Welcome Message
Nanobiotechnology and nanomedicine are new fields of science that apply the knowledge and tools of nanoscience and nanotechnology in life and health sciences. In last years, advances on both fields have led to development and use of nanodevices and nanoformulations for diagnosis, treatment, monitoring and prevention of diseases.
From this perspective, the first edition of the international course Emerging Trends in Nanobiotechnology & Nanomedicine (ETNN) was organised in 2019 as part of what is planned to be a series of international courses hosted by FIOCRUZ. In this second edition, the ETNN continues rethinking the latest advances and the future of nanobiotechnology and nanomedicine towards incorporation of new technologies for patient health and quality life.
This year's edition will be a two-day event in Olinda, Pernambuco, with its historic centre declared a cultural heritage of humanity by UNESCO. The scientific program is planned to maximize interaction and learning among the participants, including plenary talks, scientific sessions and a round-table. In the "Posters on the Podium" session, oral presentations will be selected from abstract submissions.
I hope the 2st ETNN will offer means to build and disseminate knowledge on nanobiotechnology and nanomedicine fields, and networking opportunities for young researchers and students.
